Tuesday 4th November woke brightly. Sunlight quickly dispatched the worst semblances of a winter. Working at home I hoped today might be when the postman brought a package from Amazon, awaited with some excitement and curiosity.
He arrived a little earlier than usual. The package was handed over, bulky, soft, heavy, slightly damp were my first impressions. Inside The Book by Ann Demeulemeester, published by Rizzoli, heart stoppingly simple and exquisite in the same moment as I lift it from the cold cardboard box.
“…….every picture painting its own thoughts, considerations through a brave and engaging aesthetic.”
Long black ribbon markers and delicate black edged paper of add distinction. A three sided box cover protects this treasure.
You will spend hours looking, revisiting, looking again.
